Counselling Pymble

Counselling for Pymble and the upper North Shore.

Life on the upper North Shore can look settled from the outside while feeling quietly heavy underneath. Work, family, school years, ageing parents, a relationship that has gone a bit flat.

I'm Leif Lawson, a psychotherapist and counsellor working with individuals and couples across Pymble, Turramurra, Killara and the upper North Shore, online, on anxiety, burnout, relationships and the transitions that unsettle us.

No referral needed, and no need to be in crisis to begin.

You might recognise this

What people bring to counselling

  • Anxiety, worry and a mind that will not settle
  • Burnout from carrying work, family and everything in between
  • Relationship strain, drifting apart or the same argument on repeat
  • Parenting stress, teenagers, and the pressure of the school years
  • Grief, loss or a big life change on the upper North Shore
  • A quiet sense of being stuck that is hard to explain to anyone else

Getting here

Local, easy to reach, and private

Close to home on the upper North Shore

I work with people across Pymble, Turramurra, Killara and the upper North Shore. If you would rather not run into someone you know in a waiting room, online sessions keep things private.

Getting here by train

Pymble station is on the T1 North Shore line, a short ride from Turramurra and Chatswood. If we arrange an in person room in the area, it is an easy walk from the station along Grandview Street.

Driving and parking

Pymble sits just off the Pacific Highway, with unmetered street parking on the side streets around Grandview Street and Alma Street. Allow a few extra minutes in school drop off and pick up hours, when the Highway slows right down.

If it is your relationship that is under strain, have a look at couples counselling or the North Shore couples page. If travel or scheduling is the issue, my online counselling page explains how sessions work from wherever you are.

Common questions

Before you get in touch

Are sessions in person or online?
Sessions are held online, which most Pymble clients find easier than travelling. If you would prefer to meet in person in the Pymble area, get in touch and we can talk about what is possible.
How do I get to Pymble?
Pymble station is on the T1 North Shore line. By car it is directly off the Pacific Highway, with free street parking on the surrounding side streets.
Do you see couples as well as individuals?
Yes. I work with individuals and with couples. Couples sessions are longer so there is space for both people to be heard.
Do I need a referral?
No. You can book directly without a GP referral, a mental health care plan or a diagnosis.
What if I live outside Pymble?
Because sessions are online, I work with people right across Sydney and beyond, including Australia, the UK and Ireland.

Session lengths and fees are on the sessions & fees page, or you can send me a message with a question first.
